Clariant acquires two oilfield chemicals firms in the US

Clariant on Wednesday said it has acquired and received clearance from regulators for Kel-Tech (Midland, Texas) and X-Chem (Irving, Texas), both players in the oilfield chemicals in the United States. The acquisitions will add approximately $200 million in sales. Clariant is buying Kel-Tech from private equity group Arsenal Capital. Kel-Tech is a manufacturer and supplier of specialty chemical products for production, field stimulation, and drilling applications throughout onshore United States.
