UK-based frms must still comply with REACH regulation following Brexit

Chemical companies based in the United Kingdom will remain, for now, subject to EU regulations—including Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)—despite the country's decision to leave the European Union. The United Kingdom remains a member of the European Union until the withdrawal negotiations, under Article 50 of the Treaty of the European Union, launch, with all of the rights and obligations, according to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki, Finland). Even after the United Kingdom for- mally withdraws from the European Union, UK-based compa- nies will continue to have to comply with all the requirements of REACH to export chemicals to the European Union.
