Monsanto rejects Bayer's latest offer

Monsanto today rejected Bayer’s slightly higher ofer of $125 per share, valuing it at $63.5 billion. Bayer made the new ofer on 14 July, following reports that BASF and Monsanto were in talks to combine their agricultural chemicals businesses. Bayer says it is disappointed by the rejection but it is looking forward to continuing dialogue with Monsanto under an appropriate conf- dentiality agreement allowing access to additional information.
