Indian Oil mulls cracker based on US shale, revives acetic acid project, to hike SBR capacity

Indian Oil (New Delhi) is developing a cracker project on the east coast of India based on shale gas ethane from the United States, CW has learned. S. Mitra, executive director/petrochemicals, tells CW that Indian Oil is considering construction of a 1-1.2 million m.t./year ethylene plant at Paradip in Odisha state that would use feedstock imported from the US.
