Meloe brevicollis Panzer (Meloidae) rediscovered in the British Isles in Devon, and the first record from Scotland

Meloe brevicollis Panzer was given RDB I (endangered) status in Hyman (1992), with the last record in the British Isles cited as being in 1948 from Chailey Common, East Sussex. This was of one specimen found in May (Cribb, 1949). Ten years after Hyman the position had not altered according to Ramsay (2002) in his identification guide to British Meloidae.
