Further records of new or local Coleoptera from north-east England

Since the update to north-east England beetles by Luff et al. (1996), further notable species from riverine sediments, brownfield sites and coastal sites have been listed by Eyre et al. (2000), Eyre et al. (2002) and Eyre et al. (2003), respectively. The purpose of this note is to document further local or rare beetles that have been recorded either during environmental surveys by MDE and others, or from collecting by MLL, mainly from his former address at Heddon on the Wall, Northumberland. All species listed below are believed to be new to north-east England (counties Northumberland and Durham) unless otherwise stated. All specimens were determined by MLL unless otherwise stated. A full list of species recorded by MLL from the Gosforth Park Local Nature Reserve, north of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2008-9 has been published locally (Luff, 2011) but details of the more notable species are also included in the present paper.
