Bryophacis maklini (J. Sahlberg, 1871), not B. rugipennis (Pandellé, 1869) (Staphylinidae) in Britain

A review of the British material of Bryophacis Reitter, 1909 in the collection of the Natural History Museum, London, revealed that all the specimens previously identified as Bryophacis rugipennis (Pandellé, 1869) in fact belong to B. maklini (J. Sahlberg, 1871). The species referred to as Bryophacis rugipennis in the British checklist of Coleoptera (Lott, 2008) is in fact B. maklini.
