Ptenidium punctatum (Gyllenhal) (Ptiliidae) at Mercury Vapour light in inland sites

I ran a beetle trap in my Southam, Warwickshire garden (SP424614) consisting of a 125w mercury vapour bulb above an aluminium four-vaned funnel leading into another funnel which fitted tightly to a small collecting bottle containing a little 70% ethanol (McClenaghan, 1992). This resulted in trapping thousands of mainly small beetles which were mostly ptiliids. Over a period of eight years I took at least nine examples of the ptiliid Ptenidium punctatum (Gyllenhal) from April to August but mainly May and June.
