Japan set to back down on international fusion project

THE Japanese government is to give up plans to host the world's first nuclear fusion reactor,clearing the way for the project to be built in France.Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun says that government officials are considering conceding the project in return for lucrative construction and operating contracts at the Cadarache site in France.
