This five-day course is a module of Leeds University's MSc in Fire and Explosion Engineering and is supported by the EPSRC.The first two days assume no prior knowledge of explosions, and cover some of the basic concepts relevant to explosions, stoichiometry, flammability, inerting, limiting oxygen etc.The next three days assume a basic knowledge of explosions and cover the test methods for dusts and the details of vent design for spherical flame propagation vent protection of gas and dust explosions. The last day discusses more complex explosions.Alison Whiteley t:0113 343 2494 e:cpd.speme@leeds.ac.uk
