BP, SK, Sinopec agree deal on acetic acid and BDO plant

BP CHEMICALS INVESTMENT (BPCIL),SK Global Chemical and Sinopec have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a RM7b (US$l.lb) integrated acetic acid and 1,4-butanediol (BDO) project in Chongqing, China. The project, which will be sited in the Chongqing Changshou Economic and Technological Development Zone next to the Yangtze River, is expected to be complete by 2015. The partners have already completed a feasibility study into the project and are awaiting approval from the Chinese government.
