How feedback and learning in other professions can influence medical education

The authors examined the influence of feedback on Learning in three distinct professional cultures: medicine, teacher training and music. Although training in all three fields involves a type of'performance', such as carrying out a medical procedure, teaching a lesson or playing an instrument, education and feedback in each profession differs greatly. Watling et al. aimed to compare the culture of feedback in each field, and perhaps uncover tools from teacher training and music that could benefit medical education.
