The development of MedicaL Education in Iran

Iran is among the largest countries in the Middle East. This region includes parts of -West Asia and North Africa and is the centre of the Islamic world, with over 300 million Muslims. Iran has many ethnic groups.including Fars, Turks, Kurds, Gilaks, Lors and Baluchis. Iran is an important country in world medical history2, but exact dates in its medical history are unclear. Babylonian medicine began about 6000 years ago, nearly 4000 years before Greek medicine emerged. Babylonian society was essentially polytheistic.
