Daicel Chemical Industries and a research group led by Prof.Yasutaka Ishii of Kansai University's Faculty of Engineering have developed a high-yield process for phenol synthesis through direct oxidation of benzene.Daicel Chemical intends to move ahead with research to scale up the process for commercialization,including establishing joint undertakings with phenol producers.
