We are gratified that Pomerantz (2012, this issue) and Sisti and Baum-Baicker (2012, this issue) have seen applications of our work to issues that extend beyond our original thoughts (Rogerson, Gottlieb, Handelsman, Knapp, & Younggren, October 2011). Pomerantz (2012) further explicated one interpersonal and contextual factor-the perceived characteristics of the recipient of any act. He cited evidence that these characteristics affect ethical decisions, and he raised the important question of whether they should. He also suggested that the American Psychological Association's (APA's) code of ethics (APA, 2010) could provide more explicit guidance about how the application of ethical standards "mayvary depending on the context" (Introduction and Applicability, para. 1). Sisti and Baum Baicker (2012) questioned whether "rational, neoliberal" (p. 325) decisionmaking models are sufficient. They offered instead a theory based on virtues and clinical wisdom, which they called a "rationalintuitive skill" (p. 325) that cannot be reflected adequately in a flowchart or set of guidelines.
