Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical (NSRP), a previously announced joint venture project in Thanh Hoa Province, Vietnam, will include 3 petrochemical production facilities in addition to a refinery, which in the first phase will have throughput of 200,000 bbl/day and use Kuwaiti crude oil. The petrochemical units will be designed to produce 240,000 m.t./year of benzene; 700,000 m.t./year of para-xylene; and 370,000 m.t./year of polypropylene, sources tell CW. NSRP is owned 35.1% each by Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) and Idemitsu Kosan, 25.1% by PetroVietnam (Hanoi), and 4.7% by Mitsui Chemicals.
