Mitsui Chemicals Adds Specialty Elastomers in Singapore

Mitsui Chemicals said today that it will add 8,000 m.t./year of specialty Tafmer high performance olefn elastomer capacity at its Mitsui Elastomers Singapore subsidiary. The Jurong Island based project will cost about Y2.5 billion ($31.8 million) and is expected to be completed in October 2013. Tafmer, a fexible, lightweight elastomer with wide applications in automotive, industrial, and packaging material industries, is one of the group's fve world-leading businesses, the company says. Demand for Tafmer is forecasted to grow worldwide and especially in Asia.
