U.S. Silica to Launch IPO

U.S. Silica (Frederick, MD) says it will launch an IPO worth up to $243.5 million. The 13.5 million share offering values the company at $16-$18/share. It represents about 75% of the ownership stake of Golden Gate Capital (San Francisco), the private equity firm that bought U.S. Silica in 2008 for $200 million. Golden Gate Capital will retain ownership of the remainder of the company’s equity.
