NTT Corp. Developed a new cell that uses oxygen in the air to discharge and absorb a light energy for reproduction (namely return to its original charged condition. This cell is called the secondary cell of light and air, which was developed aiming at realizing the high density by the former and energy saving by the latter. In particular, the company found out a new negative polarity (SrTiO{sub}3LaN{sub}3.76Al{sub}1.24) consisting of an n-type oxide semiconductor and a hydrogen occlusion alloy and confirmed its effectiveness and light charging and discharging functions. This allows realization of a light chargeable air-hydride cell that discharges in the same reaction as for the fuel cell and that provides the fuel(hydride) generating function as well as the fuel accumulating function.
