According to the editors, The Creative Arts in Palliative Care "endeavors to understand and value the place of the arts when used in part of end-of-life care" and to "keep the arts central within the current dialogue and debate of what will constitute an holistic, efficient and cost effective package of palliative care services for the future" (p. 20). Throughout the text, the book does provide well-written support for the use of the arts in palliative care and recommendations for how to establish and maintain such programs in a planned, efficacious manner.This book is divided into two sections, In Part I, the editors explore the development of creative arts programs in palliative care settings. Part II consists of authors with various arts expertise sharing their experiences and methods of working with this population.
