Asahi Kasei has upgraded its non-consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010. Asahi Kasei expects to record net profits of ￥6.5 billion ($70 million), having previously forecast net profits of ￥5 billion, and expects to record an annual operating profit of ￥3.2 bil- lion, compared with its prior estimate of ￥1.5 billion. The earlier forecasts were announced in November 2009.
