BASF to Build Large TDI Plant in Europe

BASF has announced plans to build an integrated toluene diisocyanate (TDI) complex in Europe by 2014. The single-train plant will be designed to produce 300,000 m.t./year of TDI and be located at the company's Antwerp or Ludwigshafen site. Engineering work is under way and the final site selection will be announced shortly, BASF says. "This new investment supports BASF's growth strategy, underlines our leading position as the largest TDI producer and reinforces our strong commitment to the TDI market," says Martin Brudermüller, vice chairman of the board/plastics.
