Chief Executive's Report

Many Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA) members will have heard and read about our concerns regarding the report into the gas market by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). Many members might think this has nothing to do with them. But the wrong outcome will impact our industry - APGA members. There were twelve reviews over the course of four years, and the focus on the pipeline industry clearly did not address the underlying problem: the East Coast supply-demand imbalance. APGA is working with the Australian Energy Market Commission on transparency and efficiency improvements to the gas market; the challenge of addressing the East Coast demand-supply imbalance was handed to the ACCC.
