One of the pleasures of turning is to be able to take a beautifully-turned form and experiment with decorative techniques to improve the finished appearance. Two methods of enhancement are spi-ralling and texturing (Photo.1), both of which are achievable with the Robert Sorby Spiralling and Texturing System (Photo.2). The techniques involved are simple to master and provide a myriad of possibilities to alter the original form. Introduce colour and in-fill methods to the textured or spiralled surface and the possibilities are endless.
