Australia strongly represented at IEC General Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission [IEC] was held in Beijing in October 2002. It included meetings of most major Standards committees, and attracted a high level of Australian participants, with 18 Australian delegates attending. Significant areas included lightning protection, switchgear, appliance safety, lighting equipment, circuit breakers and insulators. Australian delegates reported good progress on most areas, which in turn will make the IEC Standards more suitable for Australian application.
