Butamax Advanced Biofuel (Wilmington, DE), a joint venture between DuPont and BP, says it filed a patent infringement suit on January 14 against newly public isobutanol producer Gevo (Englewood, CO). The patent in question was issued on December 14, 2010 and covers bio- catalysts developed to produce isobutanol and provides protection for Butamax and "its pioneering work in the field," Butamax says.
