Cabot says it plants to spend more than $180 million through 2013 to expand carbon black production capacity at plants in China, Indonesia, Brazil and Argentina, as well as adding capacity at three facilities in Europe. The expansions will increase Cabot's annual global carbon black output by about 15%, or about 300,000 m.t./year.Cabot will boost capacity at its 75,000-m.t./year facility at Buenos Aires, Argentina and its 75,000-m.t./year plant at Sao Paulo, Brazil by a total of about 20%, the company says.
