Bayer CropScience, BASF to Jointly Develop Higher-Yielding Rice

Bayer CropScience and BASF Plant Science says the have entered into a collaboration agreement to develop traits that will improve rice productivityby 10% over conventional hybrid seeds. Under the terms of the agreement, BASF Plant Science will license yield-increasing technologies to Bayer for use in Bayer’s Arize hybrid rice. The two firms hope to launch its first product by 2020.
