Lanxess Acquires PTAP Active Ingredient Product Line From Clariant

Lanxess says it has acquired the Nipacide p-tert-amylphenol (PTAP) product line from Clariant effective January 1, 2010. The active ingre- dient PTAP complements the phenolic active ingredients portfolio of Lanxess' Material Protection Products (MPP) business unit, Lanxess says. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. "The acquisition of the PTAP business strengthens our position as the leading supplier of phenolic active ingredients to the disinfection market," says Torsten Derr, head of the MPP business unit.
