Young helicopter pilot Jack Hewitt reckons he has been pretty lucky to make headway with his piloting career. When he embarked upon his training five years ago, at the age of 19, he knew even then that it would be tough for a young pilot to make his mark and to be accepted into the industry. The biggest barrier young pilots faced was scepticism about their ability from graziers, he said, who preferred experienced pilots to handle cattle calmly and quietly.
