Sherwin-Williams Buys Arch Chemicals' Italian Industrial Wood Coatings Unit

Sherwin-Williams (SW) has agreed to buy Arch Chemicals' industrial wood coatings business for ?40 million ($54 million) in cash. The purchase will strengthen SW's global operations. Arch's industrial wood coatings business trades under the Sayerlack brand, and is headquartered in Pianoro, Italy. The business reported sales of $147 million last year, and will join SW's global chemical coatings division. Sayerlack operates manufacturing sites in Italy, North America, Spain, and the U.K.
