Clariant to acquire stake in South Korean cosmetic ingredients firm

Clariant says it has signed an agreement to acquire a 17% stake in BioSpectrum (Seongnam, South Korea), a developer and supplier of specialty active cosmetic ingredients derived from plants. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. BioSpectrum will remain an independently managed company, Clariant says. With the acquisition of the stake, Clariant will become an anchor shareholder and exclusive global distributor for BioSpectrum products.
