Solvay has announced plans to build a gas-turbine cogeneration plant at the company's soda ash facility at Rosignano, Italy. The investment will secure the plant's current production capacity and long-term competitiveness in local and export markets, Solvay says. The cogeneration plant is due to be completed in January 2018 and will replace an existing cogeneration plant at the site. The investment has been facilitated by the Rosignano site's enhanced competitiveness following a cost-saving program, Solvay says.
