Sharq Completes Expansion at Al-Jubail

Eastern Petrochemical Co. (Sharq; Al-Jubail), a 50-50 joint venture between Sabic and a Japanese consortium led by Mitsubishi Corp., says it has started commercial production of its 2.8 million-m.t./year expan- sion at its Al-Jubail petrochemical complex on April 1. The expansion will boost Sharq's annual production at the complex to about 5 million m.t./ year of petrochemicals.
