Editor's note: California horseman Charley Araujo is noted not only for his contributions to the industry as a showman and breeder - Charley was at the shank of Doc Bar and stood Poco Tivio - but he is largely remembered as a renowned AQHA judge. Inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2008, Charley died in December 1972.This interview with Charley (as told to Jane Pattie) originally appeared in the June 1970 issue o/Horseman magazine.
