Air Liquide to Build Air Separation units for Coal-to- Chemicals projects in China

Air Liquide says it has signed contracts to build four air separa- tion units (ASUs) for new clients in the coal-to-chemicals industry in China. Air Liquide Hangzhou, the company's engineering and construction center in China, will design and build two ASUs, each with a production capacity of 1,400 m.t./day of oxygen for the Yulin Energy and Chemical Corp. of Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum Group (Yanan, China), and two ASUs, each with a production capacity of 2,100 m.t./day of oxygen for Shandong Hualu Hengsheng (Dezhou, China). The coal-to-chemicals industry in China is developing rap- idly and large quantities of oxygen are required to meet demand related to the coal-to-chemicals transformation process, Air Liquide says.
