History plays a major role in today's advancement in agricultural education

I consider myself blessed by having the opportunity to teach secondary agricultural education in a state that possessed state-sponsored instructional materials for agricultural educators. During my tenure as a secondary teacher, I also had the pleasure of being visited twice a year by my district field supervisor. My district supervisor and I spent many hours making sure state paperwork was completed on time and to make sure my program was meeting the expectations of the state. If you haven't guessed by now, I spent several years teaching high school agriculture in Missouri. Agricultural Education in Missouri has held on to the traditional organizational structure of district field supervisors and developing state-sponsored curriculum for teachers.
