Cereplast to Build a Bioplastics Plant in Italy

Cereplast (El Segundo, CA), a producer of biobased plastics, has annouced plans to build a bioplastics manufactuting plant at Assisi, Italy. The plant will be designed to produce 100,000 m.t./year. It will be built in phases with the first phase, designed for 50,000 m.t./year, expected to start production in late 2012. The second phase, depending on market demand, will double capacity by mid 2013. The facility will be owned and run by Cereplast Italia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cereplast.
