Honeywell says it has tripled production of the blowing agent HFO-1234ze at Buffalo, NY in order to meet increasing demand from the aerosol and foam industries. HFO-1234ze is non-flammable, non-ozone depleting, and can be used as a replacement for the hydrofluorocarbons HFC-134a and HFC-152a in aerosol applications and thermal insulating foams, including extruded polystyrene board.
