Huntsman, Zamil JV Enters FEED Phase

Huntsman and Zamil Group (Riyadh) say they will complete detailed, front-end engineering plans and financial estimates for their previouslyannounced proposed morpholine and diglycolamine amines (DGA) joint venture at Al Jubail by mid-2011. Plant start-up is slated for the second quarter of 2014. The 50-50 jv would use technologylicensed from Huntsman, with Huntsman also having the rights to global sales and marketing of products produced at the plant. “This significant planned investment would not only make Huntsman the most global supplier of DGA and morpholine but would also complement and extend our developing business footprint in the Middle East,” says Peter Huntsman, president and CEO of Huntsman. Huntsman and Zamil are existing 50-50 partners on a 27,000 m.t./ year ethyleneamines jv in Al Jubail that started up earlier this year.
