RPM Posts Higher Earnings and Sales

RPM International reported net income of $60.5 million in its fiscal fourth quarter ended May 31, up 54% over the same period last year. Sales rose 13%, to $971.5 million, on higher volumes, favorable foreign currency exchange rates, and contributions from acquisitions. "Virtually all of our industrial and consumer businesses posted higher sales in the fourth quarter, while our bottom line benefited from favorable product mix attributable to our diversified portfolio of companies and better plant utilization due to higher sales volume, despite the negative impact of raw material pricing and availability," says Frank Sullivan, RPM chairman and CEO.
