FTC Clears Air Products' Potential Acquisition of Airgas

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued a final order that would require Air Products to sell 15 air separation units owned by Airgas, mostly in the eastern U.S., if its hostile bid for Airgas succeeds. The units to be sold are in Bozrah, CT; Carrollton, KY; Canton, OH; Dayton, OH; New Carlisle, IN; Madison, WI; Waukesha, WI; Carrollton, GA; Jefferson, GA; two ASUs in Gaston, SC Rock Hill, SC; Chester, VA; Mulberry, AR; and Lawton, OK. Air Products would have to sell these assets to a buyer within four months after it acquires Airgas, according to the order.
