SNnC-Lavalin to build two sulfuric acid plants for Codelco in Chile

SNC-Lavalin (Montreal) has been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco), one of the world’s largest copper producers, for the construction of two sulfuric acid plants at the Chuquicamata copper smelter complex in the Antofagasta region in northern Chile. The project will use technology provided by MECS Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont.
