Sasol Appoints S&B Engineers for Lake Charles Plant

Sasol has selected S&B Engineers and Constructors (Houston) as its engineering, procurement and construction management contractor to build its recently announced ethylene tetramerization plant at Lake Charles, LA. The plant will use Sasol's proprietary technology to convert ethylene to octene-1 and hexene-1. Engineers and scientists from Sasol North America participated in the design of the unit, which will use the new technology on an industrial scale to selectively produce alpha olefins for the polymer markets.
