The CW75 Index fell 1.6% for theweek ended September 13. TheMSCI World Index fell about 1%, andthe Standard & Poor's 500 rose about1%. Basic chemical shares were flat, anddiversified and specialty chemical stocksfell 1.3% and 3%, respectively.Electronic chemical stocks were amongthe leaders because of a rise in thetech sector. MEMC's share price rose7% on news that it acquired FotowatioRenewable Ventures' U.S. subsidiary,a maker and operator of solar powerplants.
