Solvay Advanced Polymers to Cease SRP Production in Mississippi

Solvay Advanced Polymers (SAP; Alpharetta, GA), a Solvay subsidiary, says it will cease self-reinforced polyphenylene (SRP) production at its Bay St. Louis, MS facility. The facility produces SRP sold under the brand name PrimoSpire and will close in order to "refocus its people and assets on research and development to fully commercialize the product," SAP says. "This strategic business decision will focus assets and personnel on refining and improving the process technologies necessary to realize PrimoSpire's full commercial potential," says Chris Wilson, senior v.p./ ultra polymers at SAP.
