PQ to Expand Silica Capacity in Indonesia

PQ Corp. says it plans to expand and more than double the current capacity of its silica manufacturing plant at Pasuruan, Indonesia. Preliminary design and engineering work is underway and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2011. The new capacity will meet the increasing demand in the Asia/Pacific region, PQ says. The Pasuruan plant produces a range of silica products for various applications including toothpaste, paints, coatings, paper, and plastics.
