The European Commission is seeking a temporary extension of the European Union's approval of the use of glyphosate, the world's most widely-used herbicide, after EU member states failed to agree on a permanent extension and reiterated concerns that glyphosate could be carcinogenic. The commission has also recommended three addi- tional conditions for the future use of glyphosate in the European Union.
