Air Products reports fiscal first-quarter 2016 net income up 9.3% year-on-year (YOY), to $372 million, while sales fell 8% YOY, to $2.4 billion, primarily because of unfavorable currency and lower energy pass-through. Adjusted earnings increased 15% YOY, to $1.78/share, beating analysts' consensus estimate of $1.71/share, as reported by Thomson Reuters (New York).
