ACC: Specialty chemicals stable

ACC’s specialty chemicals market volume index began the third quarter on a stable note, the organization says. The index was 0.1% down in July 2015 compared with the year-ago period on a three-month moving average (3MMA) basis. Twenty one of the sectors in the index rose on a year-on-year (YOY), 3MMA basis, with seven sectors declining YOY. Of the sectors that increased, electronic chemicals climbed by 13% in July, followed by cosmetic chemicals, which increased by 11% YOY, and by rubber processing chemicals and antioxidants, with YOY increases of 6.1% and 6.0%, respectively.
